Description
Rio Frio Cave – Mountain Pine Ridge, Belize
Rio Frio Cave is one of the easiest and most impressive caves to explore in Belize’s Mountain Pine Ridge Forest Reserve. With a massive 65-foot-tall arched entrance, it feels like stepping into a cathedral carved by nature. A shallow stream flows through the cave, creating smooth limestone boulders, sandy shores, and open skylights that let sunlight pour in.
This is not a traditional cenote, but its wide cavern, underground water, and limestone structure offer a similar experience—no swimming required. It’s ideal for travelers who want a safe, scenic cave visit without intense hiking or gear.
